Fire Extinguisher makes quick stop of Kitchen Fire

On Sunday, February 9th, 2020, the Magnolia Fire Company was alerted for a house fire off of Irish Hill Rd. First arriving units found a two story private dwelling with nothing showing. Upon further investigation, a contained fire was found in the kitchen with moderate damage found to kitchen appliances and cabinets. Due to the quick thinking and actions of the homeowner, the fire was contained prior to our arrival with a fire extinguisher. Firefighters removed all of the damaged property and vented the structure of smoke. The scene was turned over to the Fire Marshal's office for investigation. Units remained on scene for approximately one hour and were under the command of 3rd Assistant Chief Dean Bratcher.
